HIS-OC is Homeless Intervention Services of Orange County. HIS-OC has a few shelters for those facing homelessness. One of these shelters addresses the needs of underserved transitional aged youth. Combining Housing, Education, and Skills for Students (CHESS) is a transitional 12-24 month program for 18-24-year-old men. Residents attend college, trade school, or complete a high school diploma/GED requirements. Many residents were in the foster care system and do not have help navigating the education system. Case managers help them set personal goals and connect them to appropriate resources.
Need
Charity's Closet is a unique thrift shop where all proceeds support the programs at HIS-OC (Homeless Intervention Services of Orange County). Volunteer to serve a shift!
More Details
Volunteers are needed to intake and organize donations, as well as work a shift in the thrift shop on Thursdays, Fridays and/or Saturdays between 12pm-4pm. Charity's Closet is able to offer volunteer hours for high school students too!
