Pathways of Hope is dedicated to ending hunger and homelessness for vulnerable people in North Orange County. This local nonprofit provides critical food, shelter, and housing services for the most marginalized residents in our community.
Need
Prevent food waste and help transport fresh, donated groceries directly to a high-volume community pantry! Local grocery stores and restaurants frequently have large quantities of perfectly good, surplus food ready for donation, but pantries lack the transportation to pick it up. By serving as an on-call driver, you become the crucial link that rescues this food and gets it onto the shelves for families facing severe food insecurity.

This is a highly flexible, independent opportunity that is perfect for on-the-go individuals who want to make a massive practical impact during their morning hours. You will join a standby roster of drivers who are notified when a local food rescue opportunity arises.
When: Flexible, on-call basis. Most donation pickups occur during morning hours and are located within a short 20-minute radius of the Fullerton pantry hub.
Vehicle Requirements: Because you will be transporting bulk grocery boxes, volunteers must own and drive a crossover, large SUV/sedan, or truck.
Driver Requirements: Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, possess a valid driver's license, and maintain current auto registration/insurance.
Physical Requirements: Volunteers must be comfortable lifting and loading boxes weighing up to 20 pounds.
