Host Dinner for Teen Mentorship Program

Partner Description

LOT318 is a non-profit organization that exists to walk alongside at-risk youth and their community by empowering them to see their worth and purpose in this world. The organization and its leaders accomplish this by holding various events and service opportunities to open the eyes of the children they work with to the world around them. The children are challenged to serve others in the community and make a difference among their peers. The organization boldly believes in the importance of education and teaching their children self-value and of the resources they have available to them. The ultimate goal is to give them opportunities they may never have had, to help them become a positive influence and force in our world - and most importantly, to love them in truth.
Need
LOT318 needs volunteers to help prepare and serve dinner for local teens and to hang out, play games, and connect.
More Details
Teen Night is on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month, where teens come together for dinner, games, and real conversation with caring adults. Each night also includes a short 20-minute teaching and discussion time. This fall the theme is Spiritual Disciplines, and teens try one practice each week, like prayer, silence, and service, in a low-pressure setting with their peers.

Set up and kitchen crew: arrive early to set tables, prepare and serve dinner, and help clean up
Table hosts: sit and eat with the teens, start conversations, and make sure everyone feels included
Game and activity helpers: join in the games and hangout time
Mentors: pair up with students during the discussion time and listen
