Host Family Dinner and Activities

Partner Description

Higher Ground has a mission of expanding purpose, possibilities, and hope for youth and families living in under-resourced communities. To prepare for lifelong learning, resilience, and socio-economic stability, they focus programs and services on social-emotional learning by surrounding youth with caring and competent mentors and by providing a space for youth to develop into healthy and successful adults. Parent programs rely on the community's expressed needs --healthy communication, parenting skills, workforce development and positive resources that enhance the family unit. Higher Ground also aims to address immediate needs of families through its food pantry, basic needs pantry, and completely free mental health services.
Need
Enthusiastic volunteers are needed to help serve food and run activities at Higher Ground's monthly family dinners.
More Details
Family dinner provides an opportunity for Higher Ground's youth and their families to be able to have a wonderful night out that does not cost them anything. Every month is a different theme but always includes a meal for the entire family, giveaways, access to resources and fun activities. We need volunteers to help with decorating, set up of tables and chairs, running activities, serving food and cleanup afterwards.
Next Steps
Dinners are the 3rd Thursday of the month (generally) from 3pm-7pm. After you sign up here you'll be connected with the partner to choose your first date to serve.
